Corded vs. Cordless
Corded robots offer continuous power and no battery to recharge or eventually replace. Cordless models eliminate the cable and can be easier to deploy, but runtime becomes a real buying constraint.
Coverage Matters
“Cleans the pool” can mean floor only, floor and walls, or floor, walls and waterline. Some premium cordless models also skim the surface. Check the exact zones before comparing prices.
Filtration & Debris
Leaves, sand and fine dust are different jobs. Filter design and capacity can matter more than flashy app features, especially if your pool collects heavy debris.
Runtime & Pool Size
For cordless cleaners, compare runtime in the cleaning mode you will actually use—not simply the longest number on the spec sheet. Large pools leave less margin for a battery-limited cycle.

Reliability-first: established corded
Dolphin’s corded lineup remains worth comparing when continuous power, mature filtration and avoiding battery aging matter more than a cable-free pool.
Value-first: buy the coverage you need
Don’t pay for surface skimming, elaborate mapping or premium app controls if your real problem is simply dirt and leaves on the floor. Spend first on cleaning performance and filtration.
Before you buy
Confirm pool length or area, floor type, wall and waterline requirements, typical debris, retrieval weight, warranty and how replacement filters or batteries are obtained.
There isn’t one “best” pool robot for every pool.
