What we do
We publish practical gear guides for garages, yards, pools, outdoor cooking, trucks and weekends outside. We care about what a product does, what it costs, where the compromises are and whether the features make sense for the job.
Saturday Gear Co. is an independent digital publication. When we have not personally tested a product, we say so and base coverage on documented specifications, reputable independent sources and clearly identified research. We do not present research as hands-on testing.
Who’s behind the site
Nicholas is the founder and editor of Saturday Gear Co. The site grew out of the same research process behind a lot of weekend projects: compare the specs, sort useful features from marketing noise, understand the tradeoffs, then buy the right tool or piece of equipment for the job.
The goal is not to pretend there is one perfect product for everybody. It is to explain who a product makes sense for, where it falls short and what matters before spending your money.
How we earn your trust
- We separate research from testing. If we have not used something ourselves, we will not imply that we have.
- We explain tradeoffs. Useful recommendations include reasons not to buy something, not just reasons to buy it.
- Affiliate relationships do not determine ratings. Our editorial judgment comes first, whether a product pays a commission or not.
- We correct mistakes. Readers can send corrections to [email protected].

I’ve spent plenty of time going down the same rabbit holes most people do—comparing specs, reading reviews, watching videos, and trying to figure out which features actually matter and which ones are mostly marketing.
