Listed for up to 4400 PSI, designed for washers delivering at least 2 GPM, with a 1/4-inch quick connect. Confirm your washer’s rated flow, pressure and fittings; a larger commercial head can be a poor match for a roughly 2.4 GPM residential washer. We have not tested this attachment.

Start with flow, not head diameter
A larger head covers a wider strip, but its nozzles need adequate water flow. If your machine falls below the attachment’s minimum GPM, buying a wider head will not create more output. SIMPSON’s 16.5-inch model, for example, specifies a recommended minimum of 2,000 PSI and 2.5 GPM and a maximum of 4,000 PSI and 4.0 GPM. Those numbers describe that particular attachment, not a universal rule for every 16-inch cleaner.
Four compatibility checks before checkout
- Rated output: compare the washer’s operating PSI and GPM with the cleaner’s stated range. Peak or marketing pressure is not a substitute for its rated operating specification.
- Connection: confirm the wand or gun fitting and whether an adapter is needed. Do not assume every quick-connect part fits your setup.
- Water: check the cleaner’s temperature rating and the washer’s supply requirements. A cold-water attachment is not automatically safe on a hot-water system.
- Surface: read the surface and washer guidance. Surface cleaners are intended primarily for suitable flat surfaces, not fragile decking or vehicle paint.
Small patio or long driveway?
For a small patio, a compact head can be easier to control and store. For a long driveway, a wider compatible head can reduce passes, but only if the washer meets its operating requirements. A large driveway may justify upgrading the washer’s usable flow first. Compare the cost and storage of the entire setup, including hose and replacement nozzles.
Keep your current washer
Find a surface cleaner whose stated operating range includes your washer’s rated PSI and GPM. Check fittings and replacement parts before ordering. If no compatible model meets your intended workload, do not force the pairing.
Frequent large-area cleaning
Compare the washer and surface cleaner as one system. More sustained GPM, adequate hose reach and a compatible attachment can matter more than a larger PSI figure alone.
Why a surface cleaner can still stripe
Uneven pace, clogged or worn nozzles, inadequate output, lifting the head and overlapping passes inconsistently can all leave visible differences. Stop and inspect the nozzles and compatibility before assuming you need a larger attachment. Test a small inconspicuous area first.
Before you buy
